Does anyone else feel bitch-slapped by the end of Dr. Horrible? I so did not see that coming, and I'm still trying to decide what I think about it.
I'd really like to finish something today, but I'm under attack by bunnies that wouldn't let me sleep last night. *sigh*
Well, actually I have finished something - two somethings - one yesterday and one today. They're SGA challenge pieces, though, and I have to wait for my co-challengers to finish their parts so we can post. It was actually kind of cool working on them because one is a written remix of my fic Refining Gold using another artist's unrelated artwork and the other is a rework of the cover for Refining Gold for another author's unrelated fic. The idea was to incorporate elements from the other fic/artwork in the remix/rework.
I'm about halfway through a CLex songfic and researching the obnoxious SGA bunny for the latest
sga_flashfic Five Things challenge due tomorrow. In addition, I really have been plugging away on Nothing But Air and hope to post an update this weekend.
I also made notes on another CLex songfic (a possible sequel to Lightning Strikes) and another SGA Five Things fic that I don't think will get written this time around, but will go on the back burner for a future challenge.
Oh, and I have 10 fics waiting to be archived on my website, SSA or Wraithbait, and LexSlash.
Hmmm. I think I'm a little busy over here. That's a good thing.
*nods earnestly in attempt to convince self of same*
I really haven't been a slug this year, even though it's been a while since I posted.

The Care and Feeding of Humans
It's time for Homecoming, only Angel doesn't understand these human rituals, and he really doesn't under why all the women in Xander's life seem so determined to make his boy unhappy.
Once you've read, come on over here.
What's up with Anosanim turning down sex, yo?
Thoughts on Anikira and Xio Voe's lunch conversation?
Hisi, Riturihi, or Liri: which one of them owns a dildo?
Xio Voe can do what no other human being has ever done. Does that mean that all of his arrogance is warranted?

So this morning I went into Madison to cram as many errands in as I possibly could, as it's one of the 3-day weekends we get during the summer.
First plan: Get goodies for the Wisconsin gift box that
beadattitude won in my Live Long and Marry auction. I must say, I managed a respectable haul. I hope she'll enjoy it!
Next I hit Bloodbath and Beyond [tm Homer Simpson] and Target. Got a double pepper and salt mill at BBB -- I have some nice sea salt that's very chunky, so I've been wanting a salt mill, and this is a clever one-handed flip design. Target was meh except for some dinner and side dish kits that I bought, and a shopping bag that zips into a checkbook-sized packet, for my collection of earth friendly bags for different purposes. (That one will help when I forget to bring the big grocery-sized ones with me into a store.)
Next, headed a couple of exits west to World Market where I bought some spice, a little chocolate and some beach mats that I think will make good blinds for when I'm trying to watch TV on sunny days and the glare is bad. They were on sale for $3.50 each, so much better than blinds, and I think they'll be easy to hang and keep rolled when I don't need em.
Then east along University Avenue to a number of stops: an excellent stir fry lunch at the Flattop Grill, Penzey's spices, an Asian grocery (where the Vietnamese coffeemaker continues to be elusive), Sundance 608 (where they were showing The Dark Knight and I thought about it, but it would have killed the rest of my errands for the day, plus I'd like to see it with a friend), then walked along the upscale mall the 608 is attached to, which was having a sidewalk sale. I made a major score at the bookstore there -- half price on the deckle-edged blank notecards, and $1 for some very nice art books. I found Phaidon's "The Art Book," with 500 color plates for yes, ONE BUCK. (The one I picked up just now has "Non Mint Copy" stamped inside.) I bought five of 'em to collage with and donate to the arts center near me.) Wow.
Last stop, Trader Joe's so I could avail myself of their very nice frozen foods. Packed 'em all in my earth friendly grocery bags (which hold a LOT) and so got entered into a raffle for having brought my own.
I think that's everything. Came home, put away the stuff that needed refrigeration, and promptly collapsed onto the sofa.
Nice to have two days to get boxes ready to mail, clean house, and do more weeding for potential garage sale purposes.
I am hungry and tired; will nobody feed me???

I was just informed
danceswithclex, my woefully neglected recs list, was pimped at
smallville_pimp. Whee!
The fandom has been pretty quiet lately, so you should go check out
aurora_bee's and
enderwiggin24's new community and think about pimping something you like at
smallville_pimp. Have some fun!

Watcher, Part Twelve
Hummmm, working on some big changes today. Won't talk about that for a while. I had opened Breast of all things, with possibly the last chapter in mind. I'm finishing a lot of my BJ fiction. I want to maybe not have as much in future. I might also be selling some of my hand made bowls in future since I've been asked. Have to see. It would be first come, first served as each bowl is unique.
I love this snippet from an interview from Gale here:
At this point, some other "journalist" crashes our little chat and remarks that Brian Kinney "could have been straight or gay." I love Gale's response: "No, I think he could never have been straight. I mean, the guy was absolutely homosexual. It was part of what was interesting about playing him. He was what he was. He was, essentially, an absolutely-realized gay man living with no boundaries." Link to the interview here.

But. Due South/Angel: the Series crossover. PG. 1054 words.
( Fraser knows instinctively that he’ll never be able to track this-it. He’s a good hunter, one of the best in his region. But he tracks animals, men when forced to. )

This post will self-destruct upon answering:
Is there something to the rumors that Dark Knight was filmed with Imax technology and is therefore better watched on an Imax screen? Cause if so, I don't have to shell out cash for the tickets \o/
spoil me and die
